LATELY PRESS RELEASE

Lately Graduates from SAP.iO's Inaugural NYC Foundry and Closes $250,000 in Series Seed II Extension Round

Female-led tech startup shines on SAP.iO Foundry's Demo Day after closing latest fundraising and lands interview on live NASDAQ stream

(New York, N.Y. – August 22, 2018)Lately, the first self-service SaaS platform for collaborative marketing management, announced today its Series Seed II Round Extension closed on August 9, 2018 and raised $250,000, bringing the total raised so far to $2.5 million. The quickly filled-out round closed just days before SAP.iO's New York City Demo Day, the first of its kind for the inaugural all-female-founded cohort. Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of New York invested again, as did Chairman of the Board Robert McCausland and several other key follow-ons. Notable new investors include Mohammed Gheyath of Dubai firm GINCO Investments and Monaeo founder and CEO Anupam Singhal.

The close of Lately's Series Seed II Extension additionally culminated with an interview by NASDAQ Spotlight, featuring Lately founder and CEO Kate Bradley Chernis, as a member of the of the SAP.iO Foundry program.

The SAP.iO Foundries program is a global network for top-tier startups, including accelerators that help build innovative software and deliver high value for customers. Specifically designed to "create momentum and opportunities for women all across the enterprise tech ecosystem here in New York," according to SAP.iO NYC Foundry VP Vanessa Liu, the accelerator wrapped up with a standing-room only Demo Day at its Hudson Yards offices, where Chernis and Lately took the stage.

"Marketers waste $83 Billion dollars each year specifically due to disorganization," Chernis, a former marketing agency owner explained. "But when organized in a central piece of software, the ROI is exponential – to the tune of 130%, year-over-year for three years,” as was the case with the initial prototype for Lately she created nearly a decade ago for then client Walmart.

Chernis further went on to describe what she calls "...the missing piece, a.k.a. Content Origin. That's the idea of focusing on improving content creation on the outset with better writing, consistent messaging and unified branding. Whereas most of the marketing software world is focused either on content management or content analytics or some combination of the two, no one is linking all three. Until now. And that's the big idea,” Chernis continues. "Not only is organization key but we must pull back the ''black curtain' of marketing, the same way QuickBooks did for accounting and Salesforce did for sales. That's the Lately Mission.”
